Sounds of Autumn – A Series of Four Piano Duo Recitals
Piano Pinnacle merges the heat of summer with the cooling approach of autumn, with a lively and eclectic series of four piano duo recitals, inVancouver, New Westminster, Seattle, and Toronto. The programme will include works by Mozart, Lutoslawski, Alexina Louie, Yoshibumi Fujiwara, Infante, and Arensky. Additionally, the duo continues its mission to support a new generation of composers, and is pleased to be giving another performance of some of the Canadian works, which were written specifically for them, as a result of a nation-wide call for scores in 2011. The recitals will also feature a newly composed duo piano piece by ensemble member and award-winning composer, Iman Habibi.
Piano Pinnacle, whose performances have been hailed as “a true tour de force” and “an absolute delight” (Musetta Stone), recently played at the 15th Torneo Internazionale di Musica in Paris in June 2012, and at the Norwegian Academy of music in Oslo, Norway. The duo won Third Prize and Audience Choice Award at its debut performance at the International Northwest Piano Ensemble Competition. For more information, please visit www.PianoPinnacle.com.
