ACROSS THE CONTINENTS
East meets West in a piano duo recital presented by Piano Pinnacle,
featuring composers spanning all the way from Japan, to Russia, and back to Canada.

VANCOUVER, BC – Piano Pinnacle (pianists Deborah Grimmett and Iman Habibi) performs
a duo piano recital on Saturday, May 19th, 2012 at 7:30 pm at the Leonore Peyton Salon, located
at Place des Arts, 1120 Brunette Avenue Coquitlam, BC, Canada. All are invited to attend;
tickets are $20 for adults, and $10 for students and seniors.

Rudyard Kipling once wrote: “East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet”. In
the programme for May 19th, Piano Pinnacle merges the boundaries of East and West through
magnificent works of art. The programme will preview the repertoire which they will perform in
Paris, France the following month, and includes pieces by Arensky, Infante, Lutosławski,
Rachmaninoff (Europe), Yoshibumi Fujiwara (Asia), and Alexina Louie (America). In addition,
the duo is passionate about supporting a new generation of composers, and is pleased to be
giving another performance of ten Canadian works, which were written specifically for them,
as a result of a nation-wide call for scores in 2011.

Piano Pinnacle, whose performances have been hailed as “a true tour de force” and “an absolute
delight” (Musetta Stone), has been selected as the only North American team to take part in the
15th Torneo Internazionale di Musica in Paris in June 2012, and their upcoming recital
schedule includes performances in cities such as Seattle, Toronto, Salt Spring Island, and
Vancouver. The duo won Third Prize and Audience Choice Award at its debut performance at
the International Northwest Piano Ensemble Competition. For more information, please visit
